Colgate Sensitive Pro-relief - a review

By Wife@Work - Posted on 12 October 2010

I am sure by now, for those of you in Australia, you would have seen the ice-water challenge advertisement put out by Colgate promoting their newest toothpaste. Well, I tried the challenge too!

Of course, a while ago now I was bursting with excitement with the possibility of a new solution to my sensitive teeth. With the new Colgate Sensitive Pro-relief in my hands I was wrapped.

When it came into my possession I followed the instructions to apply it to my sensitive teeth. I am not sure whether they meant that I should do it whilst at my desk punching out a blog post about how I got the toothpaste stash in the first place but I did it none the less.

So, before this advertisement even came into being, I found myself doing almost the same thing. Our refrigerator has a chilled water dispenser and as I do not allow anything but water in my office it was my only choice as I went about my evening paper-shuffle. I usually have to wait for the water to warm but gave it a go and, by golly, it worked! I found myself studying the glass as if it was the water that had changed when really it was the 'Pro-Argin' formula that had done the trick.

Almost two weeks later, the ice water advertisement came on and I found myself telling the television to tell me something I don't know whilst laughing to myself! The end of the advertisement says to use it 'for long lasting' relief which made me wonder, 'Wow long would it last?' So, I devised a plan..

I decided to put the toothpaste to the test. After using it about every other day for the full two weeks I stopped. My plan was to see how long it would be before I experienced sensitivity and to blog the results as part of my review. As I said, that was the plan...

.. until three months past without a single hint of sensitivity on any of my sensitive teeth. Now that is a totally different kind of pain! So tomorrow will be officially three months since I stopped using it and there is not a hint of sensitivity. I guess Colgate were definitely on a winner. If you have sensitive teeth then be sure to try it out!
